A Case of Myocardial Infarction with Septal Perforation due to Atheromatous Obliteration of Coronary Artery in Korean Male.

Abstract

|
This is a report of clinical and autopsy findings of a case of Korean male, 60 year old, showing myocardial infarction with interventricular septal perforation due to atheromatous obliteration of coronary aretery with marked atherosclerosis. Among physicians and pathologists in Korea, it is general agreement that occurence of severe heart disease due to coronary atherosclerosis in the Korean individual is quite rare, even though we do not have any reliable report of statistical analysis on this subject. In such respect this case seems to be quite unusual.
